National Alliance for Voluntary Efforts (NAVE)

Under the umbrella of National Alliance for Volunteering Efforts (NAVE) Uganda, UNV and other volunteer-involving organisations have been working in partnership in organising joint activities and commemoration of UN international days the main one being the International Volunteers Day (December 5th).

The organizations involved have included VSO, JICA, US Peace Corps, the Uganda Red Cross Society and SignHealth Uganda. NAVE is a growing partnership and local Volunteers-Involving-Organizations are encouraged to be of this alliance.

NAVE Uganda is working closely with the government through the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development to develop a national volunteer policy and respective legislation that would foster practice and maximise utility of the potential of volunteering in Uganda.
